Description
The purpose of this classification is to perform work functions associated with delivery and warehouse activities. The person in this classification will load/unload trucks and drive a delivery truck to deliver merchandise to a customer’s home or business.
Essential Functions- Drive truck in assigned zone or area to deliver products purchased by customer; ensure safe operation of vehicles by assisting delivery truck drivers with directing trucks into unloading areas.
- Load truck in preparation for daily deliveries; unload merchandise at customer location and set up as necessary.
- Obtain customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery.
- Record deliveries on delivery record and submit to appropriate management.
- Monitor proper maintenance of and regular inspection of vehicles for adherence to safety practices; perform general maintenance of vehicles; record fuel/fluid usage and submit to management.
- Unload merchandise from warehouse and freight trucks.
- Maintain cleanliness of store/warehouse interior and grounds and uphold the company’s Delivery Standards.
- Place stock on shelves or racks and set up merchandise and sales promotion displays.
- Assemble merchandise as required.
- Assist with repossessions of goods.
- Perform general maintenance and grounds‑keeping duties for warehouse and/or store.
- Perform customer service inspections and/or repairs as needed.
- Perform collection field calls to delinquent customers at the request of management.

- Assist in other store departments as required.
- Perform other related duties as required.
High School Diploma or GED; six months experience in a distribution or warehouse environment; or any combination of training, experience and education which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position.
Must possess and maintain a valid State Driver’s License and have a general familiarity with the delivery area. Required to be at least 21 years old. Must be able to meet DOT requirements (examples: Medical Examiner’s Certification and Driver’s DOT qualification file).

Functional Reasoning: Requires the ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form. Involves semi‑routine standardized work with some latitude for independent judgment concerning choices of action.
Situational Reasoning: Requires the ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in dealing with situations involving repetitive or short‑cycle operations or duties carried out according to set procedures.
