About the EmployerBeaumont Unified School District is located in the scenic San Gorgonio Pass, perfectly situated between Palm Springs and Southern California’s Inland Empire. We support the growing communities of Beaumont, Cherry Valley, and portions of Calimesa and Banning, totaling over 12,000 students. The district operates seven elementary schools serving grades TK-5, one TK-8, two middle schools, a comprehensive high school (grades 9-12), one middle‑college high school, one alternative school, an extensive home‑education program, and a large adult education program.
Responsibilities- Advise parents/legal guardians of student progress, support teacher expectations, and help reinforce classroom goals at home.
- Assess students’ social, academic, and behavior needs; evaluate and document progress; develop IEP goals.
- Assist other personnel as needed to support their work activities.
- Collaborate with school personnel, parents, and community agencies to improve student outcomes and develop curriculum.
- Direct instructional assistants, volunteers, and student aides to provide an effective program and address individualized student needs.
- Instruct students to improve academic, interpersonal, and daily living skills through a defined course of study.
- Manage student behavior to provide a safe, optimal learning environment.
- Participate in meetings to receive and share information.
- Prepare teaching materials and reports to implement lesson plans and document progress.
- Report incidents (e.g., fights, suspected abuse) to maintain student safety and comply with policies.
- Implement behavior modification techniques and classroom management skills to achieve desirable student behaviors.
- Provide remedial services for children with speech impairments; serve as a resource person to school personnel and community agencies.
- Stay current with communication disorders trends and continuously upgrade assessment and therapy skills.
- Write behaviorally stated goals/objectives in IEP/IIEP format.
- Develop and provide activities and tasks to meet program objectives.
- Maintain discipline and control; develop effective interpersonal skills with parents, children, and staff.
- Understand and utilize appropriate evaluation instruments.
- Be responsive to parent needs, encourage participation in their child’s program.
- Communicate effectively with parents, pupils, and staff.
- Assess language development in nonverbal children.
- Spanish language proficiency is desirable.
Evidence of successful supervised experience working with communicatively handicapped elementary‑school‑age children. Master’s Degree from an accredited college/university. Possession of a valid California Teaching Credential authorizing Speech Therapy in public schools.

Valid California Speech‑Language Pathology Services credential OR California Speech‑Language Pathologist License OR ASHA Verification Certification Letter is required. Valid California driver’s license required.
CompensationAnnual salary: $79,181–$163,753 dependent on experience. One‑time $15,000 signing bonus paid over three years ($5,000 per year upon completion of a full year of service). New hires can be granted years of experience up to the max step 21 on the salary schedule.
