Advanced BESS Technician (Operations and Maintenance)

Your ImpactThe Advanced Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Technician in the Pearce Renewables Operations and Maintenance (OM) division performs tasks involving operations and maintenance (O&M) and physical labor at commercial and industrial solar energy projects located throughout the United States. These are local sites – candidates should reside within 50 miles of the Beaumont, California area.
Core Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) equipment.
- Perform Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) of equipment as an authorized person under properly performed LOTO conditions.
- Conduct daily safety and task planning discussions, including pre‑task planning, Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs), and Risk Assessments (RAs).
- Interact with vendors and customers in a professional manner.
- Act as a team member to support site work, which may include supervising field work onsite focusing on safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Specific duties may vary or evolve over time based on business and client needs.
- 4+ years of electrical proficiency relating to electrical systems and components is required.
- Renewable energy experience preferred.
- Commitment to safety and attention to detail with the ability to recognize potential issues and provide safe solutions.
- Post‑secondary education preferred.
- Electrical certifications such as OSHA 10, OSHA 30, and NFPA
70E preferred. - Excellent written and verbal skills to meet Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) internal and external requirements.
- Candidates residing in the Beaumont, California area preferred.
- Must have a valid driver's license for at least a year.
- Work may involve rotating shifts.
- Must be able to perform prolonged standing and work in ergonomically challenging positions.
- Must be able to work in varied climates based on location.
Hourly rate: $28.00–$32.00 DOE.
