Position: Front Office Specialist - MAREN MEDICAL GROUP

JOB SUMMARY

The Front Desk Specialist serves as the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and external partners, providing professional, courteous, and efficient front office support in a medical clinic setting. This role is responsible for patient check-in and check-out, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and maintaining accurate patient records while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and applicable regulatory requirements.

The Front Desk Specialist plays a critical role in supporting clinic operations, facilitating patient access to care, and ensuring a positive patient experience. This position works closely with clinical staff, providers, and administrative teams to ensure efficient patient flow and accurate documentation.

MINIMUM & PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Minimum:
High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred:
Associate degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field.

Experience

Minimum:
At least one year of customer service, administrative, or healthcare office experience.

Preferred:
Experience working in a medical clinic or healthcare environment. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Experience with insurance verification and patient registration.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, providers, and staff.

  • Familiarity with EMR systems preferred.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Work is performed in a medical clinic environment requiring prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking.

The role requires frequent use of computers, telephones, and office equipment. The employee must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull items up to approximately 15–20 pounds. The position requires sustained attention to detail, multitasking, and interaction with patients, staff, and visitors. This role may involve exposure to clinical environments, including proximity to patients and medical equipment, with appropriate safety protocols in place.
