Operations Manager
Position Summary
Drives sales in the Vision Center by ensuring effective merchandise presentation, including accurate and competitive pricing, proper signing, and maintaining inventory and stock levels. Works on budgeting, forecasting sales, and assessing economic trends and community needs.
What you'll do- Model, enforce, and provide direction and guidance to Associates on proper customer member service approaches and techniques to ensure needs, complaints, and issues are resolved within company guidelines and standards.
- Oversee implementation of community outreach programs and encourage Associates to serve as good community members.
- Ensure compliance with company and legal policies, procedures and regulations for the Vision Center, analyzing and interpreting reports, implementing and monitoring asset protection and safety controls, overseeing safety, operational and quality assurance reviews, and developing and executing action plans to improve performance.
- Provide supervision and development opportunities for Associates in the Vision Center by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, recognizing achievements and promoting a belonging mindset.
- Ensure provision of quality eyewear by consulting with and educating members/customers, selecting products based on member/customer needs, obtaining measurements, verifying prescriptions, maintaining confidential information, performing minor frame repair, and maintaining optical equipment.
- Uphold the company’s open door policy by meeting with Associates, listening to concerns, researching issues, reviewing policies, and suggesting resolutions.
- Coordinate, complete and oversee job‑related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs, and measuring progress.
- Build high‑performing teams, embrace cultural differences, create a workplace where associates feel seen, supported and connected, and inspire continuous learning.
- Act with integrity, maintaining the highest standards of ethics, promoting a regimen of self‑less and honest conduct, and fostering a regenerative culture.
- Serve customers and members by putting the customer first, adapting to how, where, and when customers shop, and applying the EDLP and EDLC business models.
- Make decisions based on data insights, balancing short and long‑term priorities, and considering all stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvements, adopt new technologies, and support others through change.
- Completion of at least 2 years of college OR 1 year’s retail experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience OR 2 years’ general work experience including 1 year’s optical experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current eligibility to work as an optician or apprentice optician under applicable state laws, regulations, and/or rules.
- Experience supervising Associates.

CompensationHourly wage range: $22.50 – $32.50. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and may include regional pay zone adjustments.
