Job Summary: Receive and dispatch emergency and non‑emergency requests for ground and air ambulance responses. Direct inbound and outbound telephone calls to appropriate departments, internal and external.
Reports To: Operations Supervisor, Operations Manager, Vice President of Operations
Equipment: Computers, telephones, printers, pagers, and other related equipment items not specifically listed may be added as new items are introduced.
Duties and Responsibilities- Assist ground and/or air resources for emergency and non‑emergency responses.
- Coordinate first responder notification of fire departments and other agencies as required.
- Receive and keypunch requests for ground and air response.
- Document daily activity.
- Provide pre‑arrival instructions using EMD.
- Train new Communication Center employees as requested.

Physical Demands- Stand, walk, sit, talk or hear, use hands to finger, handle or feel, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, reach with hands and arms, taste or smell frequently (no specific weight lifting).
- Weight lifting up to 10 pounds, up to 25 pounds, up to 50 pounds, up to 100 pounds, and >100 pounds as required.
- Color vision – able to identify and distinguish colors.
- Distance vision – clear vision at 20 feet or more.
- Close vision – clear vision at 20 inches or less.
- Peripheral vision – able to observe areas up, down, left, and right while eyes are fixed on a point.
- Depth perception – able to judge distances and spatial relationships.
- Focusing – able to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.
- Exposure to wet, humid conditions (non‑weather).
- Work near moving mechanical parts.

Noise level:

- High School Diploma or GED.
- National and/or State certification as an Emergency Medical Technician preferred.
- Completion of EMD certification required.

- Achieve accomplishment of all task details, no matter how small.
- Maintain good personal motivation; develop a sense of ownership of job tasks and results.
- Must have a sense of urgency for all work performed.
- Must maintain professionalism and respect with patients, co‑workers, emergency service providers, healthcare workers and the general public.
