Exxon Mobil is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to solve organizational problems by analyzing business requirements, documenting processes, and designing solutions for enterprise platform and process improvement initiatives. This role is well suited to someone with experience supporting complex, industrial or enterprise software environments, where multiple stakeholder groups (business users, project managers, and leadership) need to align on scope, benefits, and risk.
The Business Analyst will work with minimal direction, applying strong judgment to complex scoping issues, project estimation, and requirements approach, while helping the organization manage the principles of its broader business strategy.
- Conduct interviews with key project stakeholders to surface, document, and present business requirements.
- Translate business problems into clear, structured requirements that can guide solution design.
- Recommend process improvements and alternative solutions based on documented findings.
- Assist business users, project managers, and leadership in optimizing the scope, benefits, and risk of proposed projects.
- Partner across business, technical, and executive stakeholders to prioritize high-impact requirements and use cases.
- Lead process mapping and requirements-gathering sessions using tools such as Visio.
- Facilitate change management efforts associated with the project, supporting adoption across affected teams.
- Own project estimation and make recommendations on the appropriate requirements approach for a given initiative.
- Write and maintain user documentation to support ongoing operations and knowledge transfer.
- Present findings and recommendations clearly to both business and technical audiences.
Required Qualifications
Proven experience in requirements gathering and business process analysis at an expert/professional level.
- Strong proficiency with Visio and MS Office for process mapping and documentation.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage business users, project managers, and leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex scoping issues and perform project estimation with minimal direction.
- Solid understanding of business strategy principles and how they inform requirements and solution design.
- Experience facilitating change management efforts tied to process or system implementations.
Experience supporting enterprise software platforms in industrial, energy, or similarly complex operating environments.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams spanning business, technical, and executive stakeholders.
