Job Description

You’ll carry out site visits, perform material evaluations, records findings, communicate observations, and manage testing tools and samples. Core

Responsibilities

• Performs construction-related inspections, along with lab and field tests as directed by the Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Manager and Senior Engineer.
• Travels to various construction sites primarily throughout the Southeast Texas area with the potential for overnight and/or weekend as needed.
• Relays information to project manager and/or engineer, with limited in-field decision making. Transports equipment, test specimens and/or documents to field personnel, laboratory, clients or other offices, and provides physical assistance in equipment set-up and calibration.
• Enters and reviews daily field observation reports and summary reports electronically.
• Performs field quality control tests of in place concrete.
• Performs field density testing on soil, concrete, asphalt and other construction materials.

You’ll thrive here if you have

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• 15+ years of previous construction inspection and materials testing experience.
• Construction Experience for field and lab (TXDOT, and LADOTD is a plus).
• TXDOT, ACI certifications required (or ability to attain within 90 days of start).
• Ability to review project plans and reports for specification compliance and correctness.
• Excel, Word, Adobe, and Site Manager experience required.
• Potential to travel 50% of the time.
