Southland Holdings is currently accepting resumes for experienced heavy highway Field Engineers for our
Southeast Texas/Louisiana
division.

Responsibilities/Duties:- Assists the Project Manager with required documents and information to support the successful completion of construction activities
- Attends construction project meetings and safety meetings as assigned Other
Skills and Abilities - Serves as resource for project specifications, procedures, relevant portions of contract, etc.
- Collects measurements and information to compare to contract documentation to depict changes, requests for information, etc…
- Evaluates change order requests including design changes, specifications and drawing releases and reports status.
- Completes project close out requirements in accordance with contract documents.
- Maintains effective and professional relationships with owners, Engineers, vendors and contractors.
- Executes additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Preferred 1+ years of highway construction field experience, DOT and must be proficient with AutoCAD
- Bilingual is a must (Spanish and English)
- B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- Responsible to learn construction practices as required for compliance with federal, state, and local codes; industry standards; company procedures; contractual requirements; etc.
- Must be able to legally work in the United States.
- Must be willing to work in a drug-free environment and agree to a post offer drug test.
- Must be willing to work safely and keep OSHA recordable incidents to a minimum.
- Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards and specialty bridge design software; must be proficient with MS Office.
- P6 Experience preferred
- Must be physically capable of navigating rugged terrain & climbing for the purpose of performing the duties outlined above.
- Must be willing to travel and/or relocate as needed.
