Job Summary
Adjunct Instructors provide instruction in assigned courses within their academic discipline. This is a part-time, pooled position filled on an as-needed basis depending on departmental teaching needs.
Essential Job Functions- Teach courses at assigned times using current pedagogical methods, maintaining accurate records of student performance and grades.
- Maintain effective and timely communication with students, department chair, and other university personnel as appropriate.
- Applicants should hold a graduate degree in the relevant teaching discipline or a closely related field. Additional qualifications may be required depending on accreditation standards or departmental needs.
- Demonstrated expertise in the subject area.
- Commitment to teaching excellence.
Qualifications:
- College or university-level teaching experience.
- Experience with online and technology-enhanced instruction.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to implement effective and innovative teaching strategies.
- Ability to foster a respectful and inclusive learning environment.
The essential functions of this position are primarily intellectual and relational. The role requires the ability to:
- Communicate effectively in classroom, online, and meeting settings.
- Engage with students, colleagues, and community partners in a respectful and professional manner.
- Utilize technology for teaching, scholarship, and administrative tasks.
Indoors, classroom, and/or online instructional settings.
