Job SummaryWithin the division of Financial Aid, the Manager of Financial Aid will provide college-wide leadership to ensure the integrity and maintenance of student aid programs for LIT. This role will provide leadership and direct oversight of the financial aid processes and procedures and assist the division to accomplish institutional goals and objectives.
Duties/Responsibilities- Supervise and conduct annual performance evaluations of financial aid staff.
- Assist in the day-to-day operations within the Financial Aid division providing support for the Director of Financial Aid.
- Determine eligibility for various sources of financial assistance through the use of federal and institutional needs analysis.
- Process student applications for determination of eligibility for state, federal and institutional financial aid funding sources administered by the institute.
- Advise and counsel students and parents, providing guidance related to the financial aid process.
- Maintain knowledge of state and federal programs and related software and/or web-based applications required to participate in various assistance programs.
- Serve on college task forces, committees and councils as required.
- Offer exceptional customer service in a student-centered, professional environment at all times.
- Oversee and prepare Hazelwood reports for semesterly and annual submissions for veteran and dependent students.
- Uphold and agree to comply with all federal, state, and local requirements pertaining to the security, confidentiality, and privacy of information maintained by institution, including FERPA.
- Provide service during evenings and weekends as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited university.
- Three years of work experience in financial aid in higher education.
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university.
- Above average skills in the utilization of computer systems, Banner, Argos, and Microsoft Office applications.
This position requires the ability to remain in a stationary position for most of the time; occasionally move about inside an office to access documents, office equipment, etc.; and constantly operate a computer or other office equipment such as a printer or copy machine.
