Assistant Professor, Public Relations and Strategic Communication

Job Summary

Teach public relations and strategic communication to both undergraduate and graduate students. This includes everything from the intro class through a graduate capstone.

• PhD or other terminal degree in Communication, Public Relations, Strategic Communication, or related field.
• ABD candidates scheduled for completion by September 1, 2026 will be considered.
• Skilled teacher.
• Evidence of research/creative activity production.
• Work well with others in service situations.

• 1‑5 years as a public relations professional/communication manager/strategic communication professional.
• Familiarity with PRSSA, APR (accreditation in public relations).
• Well‑versed in crisis communication.
• Adaptability.
• Familiarity with appropriate computer programs and platforms.

• Familiarity with public relations and strategic communication professions.
• Strong pedagogy skills.
• Research skills.
• Strong writing skills.
• Mentorship.

• Ability to move around campus, lift up to 25 lbs.

• Classroom teaching, online teaching, and office work.
