Job Title:

College, Career, and Military Readiness Coordinator

Under the direction of the Director of Career and Technical Education, organize, maintain, and operate the CCMR Center on campus; the main source of information, resources, best practices, and assistance regarding post-secondary educational opportunities. Communicate and educate students, parents, faculty, stakeholders, and community about BISD programs/initiatives for post-secondary education and career planning.

Demonstrated knowledge of best practices related to Comprehensive Counseling and Guidance Programs

  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices related to College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR).

Experience

Three (3) years successful high school counselor experience providing support for secondary education that links

  • to business, industry, and post-secondary education, preferred. Career advising, planning, and placement (examples include but are not limited to: business and industry,
  • secondary and/or post- secondary education). Experience in Career and Technical Education (CTE).

Major Responsibilities and Duties Coordinate and lead in the quality implementation of the district's CCMR plan for 9th-12th grade under the

  • leadership of the Director of CTE, alongside the Guidance and Counseling Department. Assist and consult with counselors in the development of campus guidance activities and plans regarding post-
  • secondary education. Assist students and parents with the college application process and financial aid forms.

  • school level cohort. Contribute to and assist with the development of high school master schedules to ensure equitable access to
  • CTE programs of study and program completion for all CTE students. Work with the high school counselors to ensure CTE student course scheduling and progression is aligned with
  • the CTE programs of study. Coordinate college visits for high school students; face to face campus tours, college representatives to the high
  • school campus, virtual tours. Work with the campus administration leadership team for implementation of CCMR initiatives.
  • Oversee military recruiters and coordinate military visits to high school campuses; monthly military week.
  • Oversee the growth of Advanced Academic enrollment (Pre-AP, AP, and Dual Credit).
  • Maintain a district CCMR webpage with up to date information and resources regarding CCMR for students.
  • Coordinate and implement a marketing and recruitment process for dual credit programs.
  • Provide CCMR advising to parents and students from underrepresented subpopulations.
  • Assist campus with the coordination and administration of CCMR assessments (SAT, ACT, TSI, ASVAB); work with
  • campus administration and counselors to analyze results and communicate results with parents and students. Analyze data for improvement in CCMR for students.
  • Identify and facilitate college scholarship opportunities, along with best practices.
  • Work in collaboration with the CCMR Coordinator at each high school.
  • Attend monthly CTE district meetings and other CTE meetings as assigned.
  • Attend Region V CTE meetings, district counseling meetings, and Career and Technical Association of Texas
  • (CTAT) conference as assigned. Coordinate college and career events, speakers, etc. for the campus.
  • Provide CCMR information to assigned schools for CCMR accountability.
  • Assist with the Annual CCMR Fair for the district.
