Job Summary
Ohmstede Ltd. is looking for an individual to be responsible for executing and maintaining all site safety programs to ensure compliance, prevent incidents, and support a zero-incident work environment. Drives safety performance through shop floor presence, employee engagement, and accountability across all operations.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesMajor Duties
- Safety Program Execution – Maintain and enforce all safety programs to ensure compliance and daily use in operations.
- Shop Floor Safety Oversight – Monitor work on the shop floor and immediately correct unsafe behaviors and conditions.
- Safety Observations & Behavior-Based Safety – Drive OSOP participation to identify risks, reinforce safe behavior, and ensure corrective action.
- Incident Management – Ensure all incidents are reported, investigated, and resolved with effective corrective actions. Process all worker’s comp claims and maintain necessary records. Work with various physicians to ensure injured employees are returned to work expeditiously.
- Training & Orientation – Deliver and track safety training to ensure employees are qualified and aware of job hazards.
- Inspections & Compliance – Conduct daily, weekly, monthly and annual inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards.
- Contractor Safety – Ensure all contractors meet site safety requirements and correct violations immediately.
- Hazard Communication & Chemical Control – Maintain chemical safety programs and ensure proper handling, storage, labeling, and employee awareness.
- Emergency Preparedness – Support emergency response readiness and ensure systems and procedures are in place.
- Documentation & Reporting – Maintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready safety records, such as, but limited to OSHA 300 log, near miss/accident reports and related documents, training attendance records, written testing, inspection records.

Performance Expectations:
- Maintain active shop floor presence daily
- Ensure timely completion of observations and corrective actions
- Ensure all incidents are reported, investigated, and closed out
- Maintain compliance with safety programs and training requirements
- Drive continuous improvement in safety
Required:
- 3+ years of industrial safety experience
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations (1910 / 1926)
- Experience with incident investigation and reporting
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred:
- OSHA 30 or higher
- CSP or equivalent certification
- Experience with behavior-based safety programs
- Experience in fabrication, refinery, or heavy industrial environment
- Industrial fabrication and shop environment
- Exposure to equipment, welding, rigging, and confined spaces
- Regular interaction with production personnel and contractors
