CMT Field Technician
As a CMT Field Technician, you’ll play a hands on role in delivering safe, high quality construction projects across Southeast Texas. You’ll work in the field collecting and documenting material test data that helps ensure roads, structures and developments are built to specification and standards. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys fieldwork, takes pride in accuracy and wants to build a long term career in construction materials testing.

- Performs construction related field tests as directed by the Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Manager and Senior Engineer.
- Travels to various construction sites primarily throughout the Southeast Texas area with the potential for overnight and/or weekend as needed.
- Relays information to project manager and/or engineer with limited in‑field decision making.
- Transports equipment, test specimens and/or documents to field personnel, laboratory clients or other offices and provides physical assistance in equipment set up.
- Enters daily field observation reports and summary reports electronically.
- Performs field quality control tests of in‑place concrete.
- Performs field density testing on soil, also performs concrete, asphalt and other construction materials testing.
- Assists other technicians or professional staff on tasks and assists other departments as necessary.
- Follows Atlas safety plans, programs, policies and procedures.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Construction experience.
- TXDOT or ACI certifications required.
- Willingness to learn and work any shift that is needed.
- ACI TXDOT Asphalt Certifications.
- Familiar with Excel and ability to learn new systems such as TXDOT Site Manager.
- Ability to communicate well and problem solve under pressure while adhering to project specifications.
- Ability to travel 25% of the time.
