PositionMechanical Piping Designer
Position OverviewAs a Mechanical Pipe Designer, you will be responsible for designing and detailing piping systems for a range of projects. This role requires a deep understanding of pipe design principles, industry standards, and the ability to create accurate and efficient piping layouts and diagrams.
Key Responsibilities- Design & Drafting:
Develop detailed piping designs and layouts based on project specifications and requirements. - CAD Software:
Utilize CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Plant 3D) to create and modify piping drawings and schematics. - Standards Compliance:
Ensure that all designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and client requirements. - Coordination:
Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other team members to integrate piping systems with other project components. - Design Review:
Conduct design reviews to identify and resolve any potential issues or conflicts. - Documentation:
Prepare and maintain accurate design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports. - Quality Assurance:
Verify the accuracy and quality of piping designs and make necessary adjustments to meet project goals.
- Degree in Computer Drafting Technology
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in pipe design, preferably within an engineering consulting environment.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Plant3D) and design tools.
- Strong knowledge of piping design standards, codes, and industry best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently.
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams.
- Experience with 3D piping design and modeling software (e.g., Autodesk Plant 3D, PDMS, Leica).
- Familiarity with specific industry standards relevant to the projects (e.g., ASME, ANSI).
