Position: Fixed Equipment Engineer

Responsibilities

  • The Fixed Equipment Engineer will develop and manage inspection programs for fixed equipment in compliance with regulatory and company standards.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Lead risk-based inspections (RBI) and implement improvements to extend equipment lifecycle.
  • Monitor equipment performance using data and recommend strategies to improve reliability and efficiency.
  • Ensure all fixed equipment meets OSHA, EPA, and other relevant safety and environmental standards.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of inspections, repairs, and modifications.
  • Provide technical expertise during plant shutdowns, turnarounds, and capital projects.
  • Participate in planning and execution of fixed equipment-related projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Requirements
  • The Fixed Equipment Engineer will have a BSME and 10+ years of experience in fixed equipment engineering, preferably in the chemical, refining or LNG industry.
  • Strong understanding of applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ANSI, NACE).
  • Proficiency in reliability engineering practices, including FMEA, RCA, and RBI.
  • Knowledge of Facility Integrity Management Systems (FIMS) or similar integrity/corrosion programs, including development and implementation.
  • Understanding of materials engineering concepts, including alloys, material selection, welding, coatings, and repair methodologies for pressurized equipment.
  • Experience with inspection methods (NDE techniques, UT, RT, etc.).
  • Familiarity with asset management software and tools.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
