Job Summary

The Mega Projects Estimator for Water and Wastewater Treatment Facilities plays a crucial role in developing precise quantity takeoffs for complex infrastructure projects. This position supports bid work and design-build delivery, offering early‑stage insights into materials, constructability, and cost to help shape project development. The estimator ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations as specified in project guidelines, collaborating closely with sales, engineering, and design teams to enhance bid strategies and deliver outstanding customer value.

• Project Evaluation & Takeoff Development:
  Review and interpret construction plans and specifications to define project requirements, produce accurate material quantity takeoffs, and identify necessary materials and specialty components.
• Design‑Build Support:
  Engage in design‑build projects by assessing material options at various design stages and collaborating with contractors to propose alternative materials that uphold design intent while optimizing cost and delivery timelines.
• Bid Strategy, Sales Support & Customer Engagement:
  Work with the sales team to create competitive bid strategies, ensure accurate and timely customer quotations, conduct scope alignment meetings with contractors, lead pre‑ and post‑takeoff discussions for effective knowledge transfer, clarify material requirements with vendors, and recommend value‑engineering solutions for bid projects. Maintain strong communication with all stakeholders to support project success.
• Leadership & Mentorship:
  Provide oversight and review the work of junior estimators, serving as a senior technical resource. Offer ongoing training and mentoring to support the growth of the estimating team.

• Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in estimation for water/wastewater treatment facilities or critical infrastructure projects.
  • Proven track record in performing detailed material takeoffs from construction plans.
  • Strong understanding of civil and mechanical infrastructure systems.
  • Experience working directly with engineering teams, contractors, and vendors.
  • Active involvement in design‑build, value engineering, or complex bid strategies is highly preferred.
  • Past experience mentoring or overseeing junior estimators is a bonus.

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Typically requires a BS/BA in a related discipline, with 5-8 years of relevant experience; certification may be necessary for certain areas or an MS/MA with 3-5 years of experience in relevant fields.
