Spindletop, TX - Cavern H2 Air Liquide Large Industries provides our customers with industrial gas and energy solutions that are vital to their own industrial production. We own and operate over 2,000 miles of industrial gas pipelines in the U.S. supplying mainly oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen, and syngas in large quantities from multiple production sources to major customers in the chemicals, petrochemicals, refining, and steel industries.
Our pipeline operations and industrial gas production facilities are closely monitored 24/7 within our leading-edge operations control center located in Houston, Texas. Our operations control group monitors over 89,000 data points and assists with product supply and coordination. We are constantly optimizing our supply network to provide high reliability and energy efficiencies allowing Air Liquide to adjust supply needs more quickly and effectively enabling growth to our customers.

- Support in operation, start‑up, and shut‑down of compressors and related cryogenic bulk liquid product & tank systems.
- Calibrate and maintain instrumentation on production plants, gas delivery systems, and liquid bulk systems.
- Maintain and repair PLCs, computer equipment, single‑loop controllers, and operator interfaces.
- Repair instrumentation as identified in work requests in the computerized maintenance management system; tune P& loops.
- Calibrate and maintain plant instrumentation (transmitters, valves, switches).
- Complete preventative maintenance (PM) tasks as required in the computerized maintenance management system.
- Document work performed in CMMS.
- Troubleshoot plant control system issues.
- Assist in solving control system problems and installing new control systems.
- Assist with design of instrumentation‑related controls.
- Maintain spare parts inventory for instrumentation and control systems.
- Write standard work orders in the CMMS.
- Log instrumentation and control activities that affect plant operations in the operations log books.
- Maintain test equipment calibration and associated records.
- Maintain all I&E equipment records in both CMMS and written form.
- Guide and collaborate closely with contractors, supporting and evaluating contractor work quality.
- Rack in/out breakers and switch gear as necessary.
- Provide assistance at other Air Liquide plants or customer sites as needed.
- Report pipeline and plant abnormalities to maintenance and plant managers.
- Report safety incidents and near misses to maintenance and plant managers.
- Perform job functions to meet and advance the company’s HSE standards.
- Manage costs sustainably to align with budget goals.
- Work in alignment with guidance from the site operations manager.
- Contribute ideas to improve system and procedure efficiency and quality.
- Be on call and respond to plant sites within two hours as required when on call, and available by phone otherwise.
- Perform all other duties based on business needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 8 years I&E experience required; plant environment preferred.
- Familiarity with pneumatic & electronic controls, DCS systems, analyzers, transmitters, and valves.
- Strong supervision and time‑management skills; self‑motivated learner.
- Aptitude for controlling emergency situations and coordinating problem‑solving actions.
- Knowledge of using a computerized maintenance management system.
- Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work.
- Ability to maintain, repair, and calibrate analyzers, transmitters, control valves, etc.
- Basic understanding of the facility’s control system and process; detailed knowledge developing capability.
- Thorough knowledge of the operation and safety aspects of MCC/switch gear.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- On‑call availability.
- 2‑year technical degree preferred.
