Role Description

The Instrument / Electrical Designer role is a full-time, position based in Beaumont, TX. The individual in this role will develop and revise instrument and electrical design drawings, including layouts, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, and panel schedules for petrochemical and industrial projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating with engineers and project managers, interpreting specifications and standards, preparing bills of materials, and ensuring designs comply with applicable codes and client requirements.

The designer will review field data, support site walkdowns, incorporate redlines and as-built information, and work closely with construction and maintenance teams to resolve design issues. Additional duties may involve assisting with power distribution and control system layouts, maintaining design documentation, and supporting project schedules and quality standards.

Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess strong skills in Electrical Design and Electrical Engineering for industrial and petrochemical environments.
  • Candidates should possess solid knowledge of Electricity and Power Systems, including safety practices and applicable codes and standards.
  • Candidates should possess experience in Power Distribution design, including load calculations, equipment sizing, and single-line diagrams.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools (such as AutoCAD or similar), drawing management, and revision control is beneficial.
  • Relevant technical diploma or degree in electrical engineering, instrumentation, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience working in petrochemical, refining, or heavy industrial facilities and familiarity with industry regulations is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to read and interpret engineering documents, and effective communication and teamwork skills are important.
  • Capability to work on-site in Beaumont, TX, including occasional field work and coordination with project and operations personnel.
