Student Assistant; Event Management

The Student Worker for Office of Event Management

supports the planning, setup, execution, and breakdown of campus-wide events. This role is ideal for students who are enthusiastic about campus life, enjoy working with people, and are interested in gaining hands‑on experience in event coordination.

• Assist with event setup and teardown (tables, chairs, signage, decorations, etc.)
• Provide on‑site support during events (registration, ushering, crowd control, etc.)
• Maintain inventory of event supplies and equipment
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of event spaces before and after use
• Communicate effectively with event staff, vendors, and attendees
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Event Coordinator

• Currently enrolled as a student at Lamar University
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Punctual, reliable, and professional demeanor
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
