Summary/Objective

The Occupational Medicine Technician provides a variety of patient care activities, clerical duties and accommodative services for all occupational medicine patients.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Performs patient care activities within limits of position and under the direct supervision of the Occupational Medicine Manager and assigned Provider which may include but not limited to: triage, specimen collection, various testing and any other services required by client. Services may be rendered in the clinic setting or onsite at the client location.
  • Consistently follows clinic policy regarding verification of patient identification prior to obtaining specimen and ensures specimens are appropriately labeled with patient identifiers, date and time of collection and initials.
  • Documents all encounters in assigned Electronic Medical Record System accurately.
  • Maintains a working relationship with established clients to ensure all service needs are met and ensure all testing results are provided timely.
  • Ensures daily calibration of all testing equipment.
  • Provides an appropriate clinic environment for patient care by maintaining the patient areas in an orderly manner and maintaining of the work environment.
Required

Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 Years Experience in Occupational Medicine
Required License/Certifications
  • Occupational Medicine DOT Urine Collection Certification
  • Occupational Medicine Hair Collection Certification
  • Occupational Medicine Breath Alcohol Certification
