Overview

The US Oncology Network is looking for a Patient Services Coordinator to join the Texas Oncology team at our 3070 College #301 clinic in Beaumont, Texas. This full-time position supports the Medical Oncology Department and offers a typical Monday through Friday, 8:00a‑4:30p schedule. The role can be level 1, 2, or Sr based on relevant work experience.

Patient Services Coordinator Role

The Patient Service Coordinator professionally greets and welcomes patients and their friends/family, registers and schedules appointments, and manages communications. They support the US Oncology Compliance Program and adhere to ethical and business standards.

Responsibilities
  • Greets patients and visitors, checks in patients, and informs clinical staff of patient arrivals.
  • Provides and explains paperwork for patients to complete prior to examination, collects proof of completeness, files patient forms, updates demographics and insurance data in the system, and collects co‑pays with receipts.
  • Answers, screens, and responds to routine questions, routes calls to appropriate personnel, and takes thorough messages, including paging clinic personnel as needed.
  • Checks patients out after examination, schedules returning appointments per physician/office guidelines, and provides appointment details such as time, location, directions, and instructions.
  • Records patient cancellations and missed appointments, reschedules, and notifies staff with chart notes.
  • Provides general administrative support by filing charts and forms, maintains lobby area orderly, and supplies required office items.
  • Adheres to confidentiality, state, federal, and HIPAA laws regarding patient records.
  • Performs additional duties as requested or assigned, may type memos and forms.
Qualifications Level 1
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Some receptionist or office experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel required.
  • Must complete required e‑learning courses within 90 days of starting.
Level 2 (includes Level 1 requirements)
  • At least 18 months front‑medical office receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software required.
  • Knowledge of practice personnel, daily routines, and scheduling a plus.
Level Sr (includes Level 1 and 2 requirements)
  • At least 5 years front‑medical office receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software required.
Physical Demands

Employees are regularly required to sit, use hands to finger or handle objects, occasionally stand, walk, reach, and lift or move up to 30 lbs. Vision and hearing must be corrected to normal ranges.
