Student Assistant; Human Resources -FSW

The Office of Human Resources is seeking a detail-oriented and professional Student Assistant to provide administrative and customer service support. The Student HR Assistant will assist with onboarding, data entry, and other HR operations.

This position is hired on a semester-to-semester basis, with the opportunity for renewal depending on performance and departmental needs.

• Manage the main HR phone line, directing callers to the appropriate resources or HR office efficiently and professionally.
• Oversee guest traffic, warmly greeting both internal and external customers, and guiding them to the HR office as needed.
• Assist with various HR projects, including student employment resources and employee engagement initiatives, ensuring timely and effective support.
• Coordinate and support HR related events. Encouraging participation and engagement.
• Perform general office tasks, including data entry, filing, and maintaining accurate records.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), strong verbal and written communication skills, and attention to detail.
• Good interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external customers.

• Currently enrolled at Lamar University as a Full-Time Student.
• Must be eligible for Federal Work-Study.
• Previous experience in customer service or administrative capacity.
