Overview
The Porter at Texas Marine - Beaumont plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the facility by providing essential support services. This position involves maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the premises, which directly impacts the overall customer experience. The Porter will be responsible for transporting materials and equipment, assisting with loading and unloading, and ensuring that all areas are safe and accessible.
By performing these duties efficiently, the Porter contributes to a positive work environment and enhances the productivity of the entire team. Ultimately, the success of this role is measured by the level of service provided to both customers and staff, fostering a welcoming atmosphere at our facility.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Great attitude and ability to listen and learn.
- Previous experience in a similar role or in a customer service environment.
- Experience driving a forklift or tractor.
- Ability to trailer boats and back them up.
- Basic knowledge of safety and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to operate basic cleaning and maintenance equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility, including common areas, restrooms, and work spaces.
- Transport materials, equipment, and supplies as needed throughout the facility.
- Assist with loading and unloading of goods, ensuring proper handling and storage.
- Monitor and report any maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting visitors and staff with their needs.
The required and preferred skills include attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, time management, and effective communication. Knowledge of safety procedures is beneficial for identifying and addressing potential hazards and contributing to a safer workplace.
