TxDOT's Beaumont District is looking for a General Maintenance Technician I, II or III to join the District Facilities Maintenance Crew, located in Beaumont, Texas. In this role, you’ll handle a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to keep our facilities running smoothly—from electrical and plumbing fixes to HVAC upkeep and structural repairs. We’re looking for someone with hands-on experience, strong troubleshooting abilities, and a commitment to quality work.

- General Maintenance Technician I (A14): $37,144 - $55,134/year
- General Maintenance Technician II (A16): $40,918 - $61,130/year
- General Maintenance Technician III (A18): $45,521 - $71,055/year

- Performs general building maintenance and repair work following standard practices with minimal supervision.
General Maintenance Tech I
- Assists in ordering and picking up maintenance supplies.
- Assists with taping and floating sheetrock.
- Assists with the maintenance and repair of floors, walls, ceilings, doors, windows, cabinets and furniture; assists with moving items as needed.
- Cleans shop and other maintenance environments.
- Maintains grounds including mowing, edging, trimming, fertilizing, pruning, raking and watering.
General Maintenance Tech II
- Maintains and repairs floors, walls, ceilings, doors, windows, cabinets and furniture; moves items related to these activities.
- Tapes and floats sheetrock.
- Enters work order information and tracks projects in the Automated Software System and orders materials and equipment.
- Maintains grounds including mowing, edging, trimming, fertilizing, pruning, raking and watering.
- Monitors building operations and service activities including security, housekeeping, and building and grounds maintenance.
- Prepares, cleans, primes, and paints interior and exterior walls, ceilings, and equipment.
General Maintenance Tech III
- Inspects new equipment for compliance with specifications.
- May serve as a lead worker and oversee a preventive maintenance program.
- Cleans shop and other maintenance environments.
- Maintains and repairs floors, walls, ceilings, doors, windows, cabinets and furniture; moves items related to these activities.
- Performs and/or monitors building operations and service activities including security, housekeeping, and grounds maintenance.
- Prepares, cleans, primes, and paints interior and exterior surfaces.
