Production Supervisor – Fabrication & Welding

Job Description

• Primary Duties & Responsibilities
• Responsible for organizing, planning, coordinating and staffing the Fabrication department.
• Team building, training and development of all Fabrication shop personnel.
• Responsible for the supervision and evaluation of all department personnel.
• Manage the Fabrication department in a cost-effective manner by sound buying practices and efficient production planning.
• Responsible for maintaining the necessary tools, equipment and supplies to fulfill all XL Systems welding requirements.
• Review in conjunction with Welding Engineering, all welding procedures and specifications.
• Assist and recommend in the area of equipment acquisition, upgrading and the refinement of welding processes.
• Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization of the Fabrication shops.
• Generate non-compliance reports, corrective action and/or preventative actions in accordance with the appropriate operating procedure(s).
• Maintain and promote a safe working environment in accordance with the appropriate HSE procedure(s).
• Comply with all NOV Company and Quality, Health Safety Environmental polices & procedures.
• Ensure compliance of the company’s overall objectives.
• Other duties as assigned by Plant Manager.

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• 5 years experience in production/fabricating and/or manufacturing environment.
• 3 to 5 years’ experience in a management or supervisory role.
• Oilfield equipment manufacturing fundamentals/knowledge and experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of Lean Tools and methodologies preferred.

• Comprehensive knowledge of welding and heat‑treating processes.
• Strong leadership, organizational and problem‑solving skills; customer service driven.
• Effective communication skills (verbal and written) across all organizational levels.
• Team building.
• Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Must be able to do extensive walking, bending, stooping, and moderate to heavy lifting.
