Fabrication Operations Lead — Process Improvement

Assists the Production Manger with overall shop operations planning and organizes/coordinates daily operations which include cost control and forecasting, manufacturing, manufacturing engineering, materials, quality assurance/control, human resources and information systems. Makes recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations. Implements operational policies and procedures. Supervises and directs operations within assigned discipline or area. Ensures assigned fabrication operations and subcontractors’ performance are following specifications and within schedules and budgets.

Performs general functions inherent in all fabrication supervisory positions.

Responsibilities:

• Activelyparticipatein development of a fabricationshop
  
  HSSE culture that makes safety and environmental awareness a natural part of the job.
• Plan daily production activities at worksite, including scheduling of workers, delivery of equipment and materials, and progress of the project.
• Minimize potential HR issues by day-to-day contact with shop personnel.
• Assemble a competent team within the respectivediscipline.
• Coordinates daily production resources based on priority project demands and sequencing
• Coordinatesdirectworkflowactivitieswithengineering, material management, shopfabricationandqualityto ensure required productivity levels through planning/collaboration with department managers and supervision
• Performs work in conformance with plans, specifications, schedules, and cost control estimates.
• Provides work assignments with craft supervisors and gives instructionrelativeto the methods and procedures to be usedto achieve daily target
• Maintains quality at a level comparable to industry standards
• Assists operators with troubleshooting in both functionality and quality of equipment and product
• Ensures direct reports receive progressive training to enable them to assumeadditionalresponsibilities.
• Manages skilled technical personnel
• Develops continuous improvement maintenance and operational procedures to ensure reliable functionality of all system components
• Manages spare parts and consumable inventories

Education and Experience:

• Requires a minimum high school diploma orits equivalent with relevant experience. Prefer Bachelor’s degree in engineering with advanced technology study. Robotics applications and theoriespreferred
• Typicallyhas5-7 years of experience in the pipe fabrication field or in a related area.
• Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices,procedure sand fabrication codes related to client specifications
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan andaccomplishgoals.
• Performs a variety of complicated tasks
• Proficient in manycomputerrelated operating systems
• Fluency in Korean, written and verbal, aplus
• Typically reports tothe Automation Production Manager

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to reach, stand, walk, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear,seeandto perform repetitive motions.
• Sedentary work:
  Exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequentlyor constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
