Primary Function
Fill absences, temporary vacancies, and provide relief for Melt Shop operations lines of progressions (Melting, Casting, Refractory, and Cranes).
Tools and EquipmentRadio controlled overhead crane, forklift, brooms, shovels, wheelbarrow, oxygen carts, lances, cutting torches, jack hammer, etc.
MaterialsAlloys, lime, electrodes, bricks, gunning material, etc.
Source of SupervisionMelt Cast Facilitator and First Helper/First Caster.
Direction ExercisedNone
Working Procedure- Assist Crews as required
- General clean up of Melt Shop as required
- Become proficient in entry level tasks of each line of progression in order to fill vacancies as required
