Senior Specialist, Volunteer Services

The American National Red Cross seeks a Senior Specialist, Volunteer Services to lead regional volunteer engagement initiatives. In this role you'll design and manage volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and recognition programs that support disaster response, blood drives, and community education. You will partner closely with program leaders to forecast volunteer needs, train and coach volunteer leaders, and ensure compliance with Red Cross standards.

The ideal candidate brings strong program management skills, data-driven decision-making, and a passion for humanitarian service and volunteerism.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and execution of regional volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and retention initiatives
• Partner with program leaders to forecast volunteer needs for disaster response, blood drives, and community programs
• Train, coach, and support volunteer leaders and coordinators
• Track volunteer metrics, produce reports, and use data to improve program effectiveness
• Coordinate volunteer recognition and engagement events and communications
• Ensure volunteer practices align with Red Cross policies and compliance standards
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to expand volunteer pipelines
• Support emergency and disaster activations by rapidly mobilizing volunteers
