Student Assistant: Fall ; Nutrition, Hospitality, Human Services| Resiliency Think Tank

The Resiliency Think Tank is seeking a dedicated and socially conscious student to serve as a Work-Study Assistant. This role offers hands-on experience in community engagement, research, and service-learning, with a focus on addressing poverty and homelessness in Southeast Texas.

• Community Engagement:
  Participate in outreach activities both on campus and in the community to promote awareness and support for issues related to poverty and homelessness.
• Learning & Development:
  Engage in educational opportunities to deepen understanding of social issues and develop responses from the perspective of your future career field.
• Needs Assessment & Response:
  Assist in identifying community needs and contribute to the development of innovative, service-based responses.
• Representation:
  Represent the Think Tank at university and community events, serving as an ambassador for our mission and values.
• Research & Data Collection:
  Support ongoing research efforts, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Service-Learning Projects:
  Collaborate with faculty and fellow students to design and implement service-learning projects that address identified community needs.
• Partnership Building:
  Help build and maintain partnerships with community organizations and stakeholders.

• Must be at least 18 years old

• Must be a current undergraduate student at Lamar University.
