Summary/Objective
The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing professional nursing care and assistance to patients of all ages admitted to the area. The RN provides guidance to Licensed Vocational Nurses and non-licensed staff in delivering direct patient care. The RN supports medical care under the direction of the Medical Staff, aligned with the Hospital's mission and objectives.

Job Duties

- Adhere to the Nurse Practice Act for Texas. Conduct comprehensive assessments, make nursing diagnoses, develop and implement care plans, and evaluate patient responses.
- Delegate tasks to unlicensed personnel considering patient safety, educational background, experience, and physical and emotional capacity, in compliance with Texas law.
- Ensure a safe environment for patients and staff; understand medication and treatment rationales; administer treatments correctly.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and unit activities.
- Clarify any unclear orders or treatments by consulting with licensed practitioners and notify them if a decision is made not to administer medications or treatments.
- Implement nursing interventions to stabilize or improve patient conditions and prevent complications.
Required Education And Experience
Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
No Experience Required
Required License/Certifications
Current RN license in Texas.
BLS certification.
Unit-specific competencies obtained within six months of hire.
