Plasma Center Nurse – LPN

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility to donate plasma. Manage donor adverse events; review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable test results.
• Perform informed consent procedures, AIDS education, and confidential self‑exclusion. Conduct medical history interviews, admit requirements, physical examinations, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
• Evaluate donor reactions as outlined in the SOPs and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of Center Physician’s standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs with unacceptable findings or for guidance on medical or technical issues related to donor safety and eligibility.
• Support employee Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs.
• Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation is required by occupational health or emergency response. Follow EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.

• High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate level of a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN.
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Satisfactorily complete the FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
• Two or more years in a clinical or hospital setting.

• Hourly wage range: $24.32 – $33.44 (actual wage may vary based on qualifications and experience).
• Eligible for short‑term incentives (U.S. based employees).
