Job Schedule: Nights - Full Time
We are seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our community committed to delivering outstanding care to our residents. As an LVN, you will be responsible for implementation of the goals and objectives of the unit, nursing service and facility through coordinating resident care management and staff direction and by providing direct nursing care to residents. Whatyou'll do
- Ensure that the individual health care plan is followed; administer or supervise treatments prescribed by physicians.
- Maintain compliance with all Buckner policies, procedures and requirements. Maintain compliance with all federal and state laws and all agency regulatory guidelines and requirements.
- Make meaningful rounds of all residents, utilizing health care plans; make rounds with physicians and accurately and timely record visits on charts.
- Administer intramuscular and subcutaneous injections; perform in-house testing procedures; take and record vital signs.
- Assist in maintaining current health care plans according to a schedule rotation and documenting acute episodes or significant changes in resident status.
- Supervise aides in the performance of their duties by monitoring their work; assign aides to residents, specifying break times and special duties to be completed.
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Must hold and maintain current Texas nursing licensure. Must complete and/or meet training, certification required by Buckner and the State of Texas. Previous experience in long term care preferred.
- Minimum one-year related experience.
- Requires proficient ability to speak, read and write English.
- Work schedules, assignments and units as requested by the facility to meet business needs.
- Requires ability to use up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 20 pounds continuously to move food service and preparation equipment and other objects.
- Requires ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time; ability to turn, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, stand and walk over 75% of shift.
- Adhere to the Licensed Vocational Nurse practice standards as established by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners.
