Registered Nurse – Oncology Infusion (Days)
Location:
Beaumont, TX
The RN-Oncology Infusion must follow ANA Standards of Practice in assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and providing quality of practice for patients; and follow OSHA hazardous drug safety regulations and ONS chemotherapy/biotherapy safety and administration regulations.

Responsibilities- Safely administer chemotherapy/biotherapy agents, document drug administration in the EMR, and verify lab values, MD orders, and drug doses with two RNs prior to initiating the infusion; maintain chemotherapy/biotherapy infusion certification card every two years.
- Provide chemotherapy/biotherapy/infusion education to patients as needed and document education given in the EMR.
- Maintain skills for starting peripheral IVs, accessing/flushing of mediports, and providing dressing changes for PICC and central lines.
- Perform patient assessments and assess toxicities prior to infusions; document assessments and toxicities in the EMR using pre- and post-infusion/chemotherapy questionnaires.
- Assess nutrition via questionnaire in the EMR at the beginning of each new cycle of chemotherapy; assess vital signs including pain scale, fatigue, and distress at each visit; reconcile patient home medication list in the EMR at each visit.
- Follow OSHA regulations for safe handling of chemotherapy and hazardous drugs, including use of proper PPE and proper disposal of hazardous drugs.

Education and Experience
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- 1–3 years of related experience
- Valid RN license for the State of Texas
- CHEMO/BIOE Therapy certification; BLS within 30 days of hire
- ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Administration within 12 months of hire for Outpatient Infusion Clinics
