Texas Oncology is hiring a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) for the Oncology Clinic in Beaumont, Texas. This position can be a level I, II, or Senior based on relevant candidate experience.

The LTIP is an incentive program that typically vests over a three‑year period and is tied to individual performance and operational success. Awards are discretionary and reviewed during the annual compensation review.

Under general supervision, provide general nursing care for patients following established standards and practices. Maintain efficient patient flow, assist with patient care such as vitals, assessments and procedures, maintain physician schedules, and support compliance with the US Oncology Compliance Program.

• Provides general nursing care to patients.
• Assists with Canopy dashboard and work queues—respond timely to Canopy calls and educate patients regarding medications and treatment instructions.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
• Assists with the preparation of equipment and aids physician during examination and procedures.
• Observes, records, and reports patients’ condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians.
• Administers prescribed medications as directed.
• Screen patients for appropriate information and instruct patients in specimen collection.
• Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls; instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.
• Records patient data prior to each physician visit, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
• Performs EKG and oxymetry readings as required by physician.
• Obtain blood specimens from peripheral sites in accordance with OSHA and universal precautions.
• Phones in prescriptions and makes other patient calls as required or directed by physicians.
• Maintains patient files, records and other information.
• Initiate IV fluids and IV therapeutic medications in accordance with LPN/LVN state nurse practice act.

The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Graduate from an accredited school for practical nursing.
• 0–3 years experience as a practical nurse.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Current LPN state license and registration with the State Board of Practical Nursing in the practicing state.
• Current BLS certification required within 3 months of hire.

• At least three (3) years experience as a practical nurse.

• Minimum five (5) years experience as a practical nurse in a hospital or clinic setting.
• Current BLS certification required.

Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, standing and walking for extensive periods, occasionally lifting and carrying items up to 40 lbs, corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
