We are seeking top talent to join our team.
SummaryThe Licensed Vocational Nurse provides direct nursing care to patients of all ages, implementing measures to promote a safe environment for patients and others, and supporting the medical care of patients under the direction of the Medical Staff pursuant to the mission and objectives of the hospital. The LVN maintains awareness of current developments, evidence‑based practice, and trends in nursing research with a focus on the specific patient population in which they are employed.
EssentialJob Duties
- Assist in the healthcare needs of patients by collecting data and performing focused nursing assessments, participating in the planning of nursing care, and continuing and modifying the comprehensive nursing care plan for assigned patients in collaboration with the RN.
- Assign specific tasks, activities, and functions to unlicensed personnel in accordance with their education, experience, knowledge, and abilities, and provide appropriate supervision.
- Obtain instruction and supervision as necessary when implementing nursing procedures or practices and correctly administer medications and treatments, understanding their rationale and effects.
- Clarify any order or treatment regimen that appears inaccurate, non‑efficacious, or contraindicated by consulting with the appropriate licensed practitioner and notifying the ordering practitioner when the nurse decides not to administer the medication or treatment.
- Maintain required documentation of patient care and unit activities in accordance with standards.
- Institute appropriate nursing interventions to stabilize a patient’s condition and/or prevent complications.

Required Education & Experience- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current LVN license in the State of Texas.
- BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
- ACLS certification within one year of hire.
- Unit‑specific competencies obtained within six months of hire.
