Exxon Mobil seeks a Laboratory Technician to support laboratory operations by performing routine and non-routine analytical testing on product and in-process samples. This role conducts wet chemistry analyses, prepares samples and reagents, maintains laboratory equipment, and ensures accurate data generation in compliance with established standard operating procedures. The Technician will work with laboratory supervisors and chemists to support quality assurance and quality control activities and contribute to efficient plant operations.
Responsibilities- Perform routine and non-routine laboratory analyses, including wet chemistry testing of product and in-process samples.
- Support quality assurance and quality control activities by generating accurate and reliable analytical data.
- Prepare, label, and handle samples in accordance with laboratory procedures and standards.
- Calibrate, operate, troubleshoot, and perform routine maintenance on laboratory instruments and testing equipment.
- Prepare chemical stock solutions, reagents, standards, and laboratory materials required for testing activities.
- Record, document, and maintain test results, laboratory records, and reports accurately and in a timely manner.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and quality management system requirements.
- Assist laboratory supervisors and chemists in investigating quality-related issues and supporting process improvement initiatives.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance within the laboratory environment.
- Support special projects and additional testing requirements as assigned.
- Polytechnic Diploma or equivalent qualification in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Technical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Basic understanding of laboratory testing methods, analytical techniques, and wet chemistry procedures.
- Computer literate with proficiency in standard business and laboratory software applications.
- Experience in a quality control or quality assurance laboratory environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety practices, equipment calibration, and maintenance procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and quality standards.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to work in a manufacturing, production, or industrial laboratory setting.
