84 Lumber, the nation's largest privately held supplier of building materials, is hiring for a Manager Trainee position. No experience is required; the role offers hands‑on training in all aspects of store operations and a clear path to a management role within 6–12 months.
Compensation & BenefitsPay: $51,672 – $54k+ per year, which includes a base pay of $18.00 per hour plus a minimum of eight hours of overtime per week (paid at a time and a half rate of $27.00 per hour) and monthly bonuses (minimum of $3k per year).

The Manager Trainee is a full‑time, entry‑level position designed to prepare you for a leadership role within 84 Lumber. This role offers hands‑on training across all aspects of store operations with the goal of promotion to a management position, potentially increasing annual pay by up to 40%.
- Sales and Customer Service:
Support customers and drive sales in a retail store environment. - Store Operations and Inventory Management:
Oversee material/supply chain flow, stock, and merchandising. - Blueprint Reading and Estimation:
Create material estimates for building projects. - Forklift Operation and Certification:
Safe handling of materials and equipment. - Business Management:
Payroll, invoicing, inventory, and financial analysis. - Microsoft Office Suite:
Enhance and refine your skills through a comprehensive training program.
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Demands & Work EnvironmentWork in both indoor and outdoor settings, assisting customers in all weather conditions (wet, humid, hot, or cold). The role requires frequent standing, walking, and lifting up to 80 pounds, and other physical activities. You may also work around machinery and airborne particles.
