Clinical Account Specialist (CAS) — Beaumont, TX Responsibilities
- - Support launch and ongoing growth of Ionis’s first wholly owned commercial product in the assigned territory as the indication expands beyond FCS to severe hypertriglyceridemia (SHTG).
- - Build and leverage local healthcare networks and relationships to develop and execute effective territory business plans.
- - Educate HCPs and office staff on sHTG disease awareness, diagnostic pathway, and the urgency to prioritize and treat appropriate patients.
- - Create positive prescribing experience using value-added resourcing and HCP/patient support materials and programs.
- - Participate in conferences and scientific meetings to educate HCPs on sHTG disease state and treatment.
- - Gather market insights, profile accounts, and provide feedback to field leadership and marketing to inform sales and marketing strategy.
- - Understand local referral networks and patterns; identify and document potential sHTCs treating sHTG patients.
- - Execute brand strategic plans through customer-focused territory account plans to maximize opportunities and satisfaction.
- - Develop strategies based on current and future customer needs (e.g., endocrinologists, cardiologists, targeted PCPs) and adjust tactics to meet regional goals.
- - Participate in field training; certify on approved label and applicable compliance/customer engagement policies.
- - Collaborate across functions and teams using compliant, multi-channel customer engagement.
- - Valid U.S. driver’s license and driving record meeting company standards.
- - Bachelor’s degree.
- - 5+ years in pharma sales, including: new product launches, account-based selling, HCP/IDN engagement, cross-functional coordination, and independent territory management.
- - Background in cardiology/endocrinology or related specialties that treat FCS patients.
- - Injectable experience preferred.
- - Familiarity with cardiometabolic/lipid-related diseases (e.g., sHTG).
- - Established relationships with KOLs and major accounts.
- - Ability to analyze market data and develop territory strategies.
- - Record of navigating complex accounts and aligning solutions to patient needs.
- - Strong clinical knowledge and commitment to patient needs.
