Position: Electrician w/ Dirt Operator Experience- Beaumont, TX

turner industries group l.l.c. Is looking for an experienced electrician that has some experience with operating dirt equipment for a job in beaumont, tx.

responsibilities
  • the electrician position plans layout, installs and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures and control equipment. Non-exempt role; reports to the foreman; assigned duties according to specific procedures and work is checked frequently.
  • operate industrial trucks or tractors equipped to move materials around a warehouse, storage yard, factory, construction site, or similar location. Non-exempt role; reports to site manager, site superintendent, or foreman; assigned duties according to specific procedures and work is checked frequently.
  • plan new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials; provide access for future maintenance; avoid hazardous wiring; prepare sketches showing the location of wiring and equipment or follow diagrams or blueprints; ensure concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring; measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit; pull wiring through conduit; splice wires; connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment;

    install control and distribution apparatus (switches, relays, circuit breaker panels); connect power cables to equipment and install grounding leads; test continuity of circuits for safety; observe functioning of installed equipment to determine hazards and needs for adjustments; relocate or replace as needed.
  • inspect product load for accuracy and safely move it around the warehouse or facility to ensure timely and complete delivery; move controls to drive gasoline- or electric-powered trucks, cars, or tractors; transport materials between loading, processing, and storage areas; move lifting devices; load and unload materials; perform routine maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment; signal workers to discharge, dump, or level materials.
qualification

standards
  • high school or equivalent
  • one (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
  • knowledge of electrician's tools and how to use them
  • working on or above 600v or 69kv industrial high voltage distribution systems requires qualification
  • most jobsites require nccer certification for a-class electricians
  • written pre-employment qualification test
  • post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
  • jobsite safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)
  • safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
  • applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace
  • minimum (2) years of experience for dirt operating
physical and mental involvement

physical involvement: may be required to climb ladders, scaffolds, or structures above and below ground level; maintain balance on ladders/scaffolds/structures; reach in all directions; handle and manipulate objects; lift 30 to 50 pounds; stand, walk, push, pull, bend, kneel, crouch or squat; see and hear with or without correction; wear respirator and other ppe; use stepstools; work in extreme temperatures and loud environments.

mental involvement: may be required to follow set procedures and standards; follow oral or written directions; interpret plans and blueprints; perform basic mathematics; plan work and select proper tools; communicate effectively; work in a team; learn new tasks; maintain focus and manage time across multiple projects; ensure work is done consistently and in compliance with directions.
