What role you will play in our team We are looking for Analyzer Technicians at our Beaumont, Texas Refinery. An Analyzer Technician is responsible to perform all activities associated with maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing all instrument control systems and online analyzer applications in a safe and efficient manner.
What you will do Perform all job-related duties as assigned. Perform all tasks in a safe, efficient manner. Perform quality troubleshooting by breaking down complex systems into simple sub-systems to isolate an issue and make a timely and quality repair of an instrument/analyzer system. Properly operate test equipment. Complete and qualify on all stages of training. Effective communications with FLS, console operators, and unit personnel, etc.
Receive daily schedule and work permits to determine activities to be performed. Daily PM checks on analyzer sample systems. Perform preventive maintenance on controls systems, instrument loops, etc. Install and maintain various types of instrumentation equipment. Layout, assemble, install, test, repair, and adjust instruments, junction boxes, and wiring as needed. Perform analyzer validations at prescribed levels. Troubleshoot and repair electronic controls, instrument loops, and equipment using appropriate tool and testing instruments and procedures.
Mount instruments, analyzers, tubing, and valves in proper positions, circuits per diagram specs. Test analyzer and verify analyzer accuracy by various validation techniques. Interpret drawings such as P& loop drawings. Troubleshoot and repair online analyzers. Proper record keeps of all maintenance activities. Accurately record all preventative maintenance and repair data
About you Skills and Qualifications Able to work in shops and field settings. Demonstrate the ability to effectively develop, communicate, and implement plans. Effective in oral and written communications, including effective meeting skills. Ability to work with others in a team environment, including working toward team goals. Able to identify and mitigate job and/or safety hazards. Performs position in a manner that demonstrates professionalism, knowledge, understanding, and commitment for health and safety of oneself, others, and the surrounding communities and environment.
Preferred Qualifications / Experience High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 3-5 years' experience directly related to duties and responsibilities specified. Demonstrated work experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities of and instrument/analyzer technician. Demonstrate the ability to properly troubleshoot a complex system by breaking it down into smaller sections in order to isolate the functional failure in an instrument/analyzer control system.
Ability to isolate instrument and analyzer equipment. Ability to install and maintain instruments, analyzers, control valves, conduit, wiring, tubing, and piping. Knowledge of instrument/analyzer systems including planning additions or modifications on loops and circuits. Proficiency in safe use of hand and power tools applicable to the trade. Ability to operate a variety of electronic, pneumatic, and electrical test instruments safely and properly.
Proficiency with computer programs for field calibrations, communication, and record keeping functions.
