Position Details AboutThe Role
Lay out, fit, and assemble structural steel and process piping for industrial modules and field installation across the Gulf Coast.
Duties and Responsibilities- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine layout and assembly procedures.
- Measure, cut, fit, and shape steel pipe and plate components using hand and power tools, including saws, torches, and plasma cutters.
- Perform layout and fitting of structural steel members, including beams, columns, braces, pipes, and plates, according to project requirements.
- Align and fit structural and pipe steel components using techniques such as welding, bolting, and riveting to ensure proper alignment and structural integrity.
- Verify dimensions and alignments of assembled components using levels, squares, and other measuring tools.
- Fabricate, install, and weld temporary support structures as needed to hold steel components in place during assembly.
- Collaborate with welders, crane operators, and other team members to coordinate workflow and ensure efficient project execution.
- Inspect and test completed work to ensure quality standards are met and make adjustments as necessary.
- Apply working knowledge of modular fabrication practices, including shop based assembly of pre engineered structural and piping modules, interpretation of module drawings and tie in points, dimensional control, and the methods used to transport and erect completed modules at final installation sites.
- Must pass a pre hire drug test and medical physical.
- Must pass a written and functional test administered at the project worksite or PSV worksite in Texas at employer expense.
- Must be able to lift and move a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Must be willing and able to climb and work in high places that may exceed 200 feet in height, and in confined spaces.
- Must adhere to all OSHA, company, and client safety protocols.
- These requirements apply equally between U.S. workers and H 2B program workers.
Shift Schedule
Workers will work one of two shifts: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM or 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM with a half hour lunch break on varying days of the week from Monday through Sunday based on client need.
