DescriptionAvalon Transportation is hiring skilled Lead Diesel Bus Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of motorcoaches. You will ensure that our buses are safe, reliable, and fully operational for customer use. Tasks include routine maintenance, diagnosing mechanical issues, and making necessary repairs to brakes, engines, suspensions, and more.
Responsibilities- Perform diagnostics and repairs on various vehicle systems.
- Complete preventive maintenance and safety inspections.
- Accurately maintain records of all work performed.
- Conduct test drives to ensure repairs are effective.
- Provide day-to-day direction and support to the Beaumont technician.
- Manage multiple maintenance tasks and priorities independently.
- Lead-level bus maintenance experience;
Class A preferred - Tech school diploma/degree, relevant ASE certs, or equivalent military maintenance training
- Required certs and demonstrated qualifications to perform safety-sensitive maintenance on passenger buses
- Hands-on brakes, air systems, suspension, engines, and emissions systems experience
- Stable, relevant maintenance work history
- Able to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and provide day-to-day direction and support to the Beaumont technician
- Computer literate
- Must have a personal mechanic tool set.
- 3+ years of experience in diesel or automotive repair.
- CDL not required, but helpful
