GFL Environmental is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Mechanic to keep our waste and recycling trucks and equipment operating safely and reliably. In this on-site role, you'll perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel trucks, hydraulics, electrical systems, and related components. You'll complete preventive maintenance, respond to breakdowns, and document work in our maintenance systems. Working in a safety-first, team-focused environment, you'll support essential environmental services while gaining training and growth opportunities in a stable, fast-paced industry.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel trucks and related fleet equipment
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and safety checks
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical, brake, and suspension systems
- Respond to road calls and equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime
- Document all work performed in maintenance and compliance systems
- Follow all safety, environmental, and DOT/compliance procedures
- Collaborate with operations to prioritize repairs and equipment availability
- Maintain tools, shop equipment, and a clean, safe work area
Required Skills
- Diesel engine diagnostics and repair

- Welding and fabrication basics
- Use of diagnostic software and tools
