JOB PURPOSE
Serves as Family/Parent Partner for the Center. Assists families/caregivers in accessing social support services at Spindletop Center and in the community.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREDHigh school diploma or GED preferred. Must be parent or caregiver of a child who has received mental health services in any community Mental Health agency. Preference given to parents of children's mental health services at Spindletop Center and who has experience accessing community services for that child.

DRIVING REQUIREDYes
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Good spelling and grammar skills.
- Ability to write progress notes according to standards, assessments, brief mental status exams, memos, letters, various complex reports and miscellaneous other documents with acceptable spelling and grammar.
- Computer—skilled in the use of technology with Microsoft Office and all Google applications.
- May be required to interact with other consumers, referral sources, outside agencies, and family members to determine needs and actions to be taken.
- Current State of Texas Driver License or if you live in another state, must be currently licensed in that state.
- Liability insurance required if employee will operate personal vehicle on Center property or for Center business. Must be insurable by Center's liability carrier if employee operates a Center vehicle or drives personal car on Center business.
- Must complete all training requirements in month in which they are due.
- May be required to provide on-call duties.
- Availability of a personal vehicle for business use may be required.
- Work will take place within office setting, community setting and within the homes of clients, which may include shelters and temporary housing.
- Must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug test.
- Must successfully pass all background screens as required by the state.
- Ability to input data into computer, make calculations, complete paperwork, produce reports.
- Must be physically able to conduct home visits to include walking on uneven surfaces, climbing stairs, and standing for long periods of time if required.
- Provides peer monitoring, education and support to the caregiver.
- Assist the caregiver in accessing social supports. Services are documented and reviewed by supervisor for appropriateness.
- Teaches the caregivers to work collaboratively with professionals at STCTR and other community agencies through both group and 1-1 meetings.
- Works closely with the DIYS/SCOPC team to promote the youth's progress through treatment as demonstrated by supervisory review of consumers' files.
- Works closely with community organizations, such as the school district, juvenile probation offices, CPS, etc, to promote effective collaboration with other agencies in providing services to assigned consumer/families. Work will be demonstrated by notes in consumers' files to be reviewed by the supervisor.
- Maintains consumer records, and completes other documentation in accordance with applicable standards, Unit policy, and Center policy.
- Completes concise and accurate written documentation of all services provided at the time of service consistent with Medicaid, CARF/CCBHC, DSHS standards and Center policy.
- Serves as advocate for consumers and their families as requested.
