Position: Career Development Specialist and Employment Success Coach

Goodwill hires compassionate, dedicated, and driven individuals to represent its Mission Services Department. The Mission Services Field Team is comprised of two valuable forward‑facing roles:
The Career Development Specialist (CDS) and the Employment Success Coach (ESC). These key roles drive the MISSION of Goodwill through empowering individuals through the power of work.

The CDS delivers job readiness training, life skills courses, and digital literacy classes to participants with barriers to employment. Individualized services and group sessions will be delivered through one of our area Career Centers and through our community partner sites to individuals aged 18+.

Employment Success Coaches (ESC)

The ESC delivers hands‑on job readiness training within the Transitional Work Experience program. They train, develop, and prepare individuals with barriers and challenges to employment for work in and outside of a retail environment. In addition, they will assist in working on long‑term employment goals with each participant to ensure a successful transition from the program.

Position Requirements for the Mission Services Department:
  • High school Diploma or GED
  • BS/BA or equivalent service‑related degree in a relevant field
  • Minimum of two‑years relevant work experience
  • Goal‑oriented, self‑motivated individual
  • Current Class C driver’s license
  • Ability to travel within the assigned territory
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Proficient in using and conducting ZOOM meetings
  • Ability to plan, design, and implement curriculum for job readiness skills, life skills, and digital literacy skills
  • Adaptability and innovation
  • Knowledge of available community resources
  • Networking with community partners and other contact sources
  • Serving diverse populations
  • Effective, professional oral, written, and digital communication skills
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to collaborate with others
  • Following agency guidelines and standards
  • Delivering compassionate, considerate services through on/offsite participant interactions
  • Representing the agency at community events and within other external settings
  • Ability to drive measurable outcomes and results for the agency
