Essential Job Functions
Under direct supervision of the Pool Manager to safeguard and regulate the conduct of all patrons at swimming pool facilities. Supervises large groups in the water, including children and adults. Ensures patron safety by enforcing pool rules and regulations; performs water rescues and administers basic first aid as needed. Carries out emergency operating procedures and notifies proper authorities. Directs and demonstrates proper and safe use of facility equipment;
ensures policy and proper procedures are followed at all times.
Works front desk on rotation basis as needed; performs other duties as required. Incentives- City of Beaumont will incur or reimburse cost for lifeguard certification at the end of the summer.
- $200 sign‑on bonus for years 1‑2; $300 sign‑on bonus for years 3‑4 and $400 sign‑on bonus for years 4‑5.
- Service must be in consecutive years; breaks in service will revert to year one. All bonuses will be honored at the end of successful summer employment.
This position requires 100% onsite work. Works outdoors during summer months;
Tuesday – Sunday, schedules may vary.
Knowledge of pool safety, rules and regulations.
Skills & AbilitiesPerforms water rescues and administers basic first aid as needed. Ability to save lives at a municipal pool facility.

Education & ExperienceCompletion of 10th grade. Skilled in enforcing pool rules and regulations. Ability to establish and maintain relations with fellow employees, city officials and the general public. American Red Cross Lifeguard Training and First Aid;
American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer Certification. Must have current CPR card and current lifeguard certification. Applicant selected for hire will be subject to a background investigation and drug/alcohol screen test.
