We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused CDL Driver to support the daily operations of chemical distribution. This role involves the safe and efficient operation of Class 8 tractors and related equipment to transport hazardous and non‑hazardous materials, including both liquid and dry products. Responsibilities include performing bulk and packaged deliveries, executing proper loading and unloading procedures, completing required documentation, and ensuring compliance with DOT, OSHA, and Brenntag’s safety standards.

Job Description
  • Daily operation and driving of a power unit (Class 8 tractors and lower) for chemical distribution.
  • Transport of HAZMAT and non‑hazardous materials (both liquid and dry).
  • Movements to satisfy outside delivery (customers/vendors), in‑plant movements (spotting), and/or inter‑company branch transfers.
  • Types of deliveries include:
    • Bulk deliveries of liquids and solid materials that include loading and offloading from appropriate trailer configurations. Drivers participate in the loading/unloading process using pumps, air, etc. to move product. The process includes management of the entire operation, proper transfer, delivery of product, securement after completion, and execution of all applicable paperwork.
    • Packaged deliveries of materials in drums, IBCs, or other containers in liquid form; palletized material (dry or liquid) and supersacks (dry) of product. The process includes management of the entire operation, proper transfer, delivery of product, securement after completion, and execution of all applicable paperwork.
  • Operate a tractor, trailer, or applicable service vehicle in a safe and efficient manner and comply with all applicable DOT, OSHA, and site‑specific rules and regulations.
  • Follow all Brenntag operating procedures and work instructions, including safety policies while on a customer/vendor site.
  • Maintain utility equipment such as ELDs, virtual gateways, camera systems, and tracking units. Ensure all equipment is in good working order before use.
  • Maintain communication with supervisor and/or dispatcher to receive delivery instructions.
Your Profile – Education And Experience
  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or U.S. military experience.
  • Prior experience in chemical delivery is considered if education or service requirements are not fully met.
  • Must meet all components of driver qualifications (DQ) for employment.
  • Driver certifications required:
    • Class "A" CDL with Tanker, Bulk, and/or Hazmat endorsement (as required for the role).
    • Current DOT medical card.
    • Current TWIC card or proof of application in process (if required).
    • Ability to drive a manual transmission.
  • Preferred: minimum of 1 year liquid bulk hauling experience or minimum of 3 years commercial truck driving experience; certification from an accredited commercial driving academy.

  • Willingness to operate power units that utilize advanced camera and safety systems for compliance purposes.
