We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee day‑to‑day operations on commercial construction projects nationwide, including retail, food & beverage, and cold‑storage facilities. This role provides field leadership, coordinates subcontractors, manages scheduling and safety, and ensures high‑quality work is delivered on time and within budget. The Superintendent also plays a key role in coaching and mentoring Assistant Superintendents to support their growth and readiness for future leadership roles.
This position includes the ability to return home every other weekend, supporting a healthy work–life balance during travel assignments.
- Lead and enforce all jobsite safety protocols; address subcontractor non‑compliance.
- Oversee quality control and ensure all work meets plans, specifications, and contracted scope.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and inspectors across multiple trades.
- Manage daily operations using Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Suite, and email (daily logs, RFIs, punch lists, photos, reports).
- Schedule and coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions.
- Identify conflicts, plan revisions, and communicate with the project team for timely resolution.
- Lead weekly subcontractor meetings and track progress against schedule and budget.
- Complete jobsite punch lists and ensure timely project closeout.
- Maintain strong, professional relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and mentorship to Assistant Superintendents to support their development.
- Manage multiple job sites when required.
- Deliver consistent results on retail, food/beverage, and cold‑storage projects, understanding the unique requirements of each environment.
- High school diploma required;
Construction Management degree preferred. - 5+ years of relevant commercial construction experience, ideally including retail, food/bev, or cold‑storage projects.
- Strong understanding of construction practices, field operations, and scheduling.
- OSHA 30, forklift certification, and First Aid/CPR (or ability to obtain).
- Ability to read plans, interpret specifications, and write clear, professional reports.
- Strong communication skills with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, Bluebeam, and Procore.
- Ability to solve practical problems and adapt to changing field conditions.
